Embracing Servingness
PCC has met the eligibility criteria as an HSI since 1990. In its commitment to embrace Dr. Gina A. García, a national expert on Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), defines servingness as the ability to...“enroll and educate Latina/o/x and 通过以拉丁裔学生为中心的文化强化方法来培养墨西哥裔学生 而Chicana/o/x的经验和认识方式,“改变了组织结构 为服务,并提供经验,导致学术和解放 outcomes." As an equity-minded learning community, together we will propel PCC into becoming a truly Hispanic-serving institution.
What Does it Mean to be an HSI?
Chicana/o/x—— at the end of the award year immediately preceding the date of application.
太阳城集团官方网址导航有资格成为西班牙裔服务机构(HSI),因为超过 该校50%的学生属于“西班牙裔”,占多数 of whom are of Mexican and Central American origin. The Title V Grants team recognizes 这个问题的本质和其他分类和标签为一个部门 有(或选择)两国土著血统的学生群体 the northern and the southern regions of the Americas. Indigeneity is an important According to the 2020 Census, if one is to identify as Salvadoran, Dominican, Colombian, Guatemalan, Spaniard, Ecuadorian, etc.—one must, also, by default, agree to Hispanic or Latin origins.
Additionally, this Indigenous history existed long before the U.S. federal government developed standards provided by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget for collecting data on race and “Hispanic” 起源,一个以欧洲殖民起源和身份为中心的起源.
As advocates of equity outcomes
With respect to the 7 generations before us and after us,
